Fair Trade at Knop Law Primary School

At our school, we think supporting fair trade - and a fair deal for people across the world, is of vital importance. That's why we raise awareness of key issues through work in class and assemblies. We give pupils the opportunity to buy the official brand of Fair Trade drinks and snacks every day.
We showcased Fair Trade produce and educated parents and carers about the difference it can make in the Third World. From Head-teacher discussions on current affairs related to the Third World in assembly, to regular Fair Trade coffee mornings for parents, govenors and the local community - at Knop Law Primary School, we fully support raising awareness of Fair Trade with our pupils.
Our steering group meets each term and involves members of the school council. [Read the minutes from our latest meeting]. This year they have discussed a variety of topics including: staff visits to India, Fair-trade coffee mornings within the community and extending the range of Fair Trade produce sold within our tuck shop.
