OPAL Update

This has been a fantastic half term for Opal, despite the weather still not being perfect, we have had some sunshine and snow which both make playtimes so much better!

A highlight for us has definitely been inviting parents and families into school to join us in our stay and play sessions. The children, and staff, loved having you in school and the feedback from you was fantastic. Hopefully, you will have a much better understanding of what Opal looks like in our school and see why we value play so highly. It might have also become clearer why we are always asking you for your kind donations, also often referred to as junk!

Easter Challenge

To continue developing Opal in school the children have been set a special Opal Easter Challenge homework. The children have lots of excellent ideas about how we could develop new play areas and play opportunities and the challenge asks them to share their favourite with us. This can be an individual or family idea with our intention being that we make some of our most popular suggestions in the summer term.

This leads us nicely into our next plea to our parents and extended families. Developing play areas is a priority for us after the Easter holidays and this is something that we would like to involve parents in. On Friday 13th May, we are going to host a Friends of Knop Law coffee morning with a ‘DIY SOS’ theme from 8.30am. As part of the morning we will showcase some of our best ideas and in exchange are hoping that people will volunteer to be part of our work group. If you’re confident using a saw, drill, screwdriver, paintbrush etc. then Knop Law needs you!

Thank you for your continued support,

Ms Simpson
